The need for continuous transformation

Transformation is no longer a “once in a generation” event, it is now a constant. Once regarded as a singular event, completely reinventing a business or a business model is required at a much higher frequency. The increasing pace of innovation combined with rapidly changing social, environmental and regulatory environments are pressing organisations and ecosystems to continuously evolve in order to survive and thrive. And organisations are finding it harder to navigate the increasingly competitive and disruptive business environments.

Patrick Bruinsma
Client Technical Manager
IBM Z in ASEAN

Patrick’s mission is to help customers meet the most stringent security and other quality of service requirements for their critical business workloads. Patrick was born and raised in the Netherlands. He is classically trained as a systems programmer to implement and operate sophisticated IT environments, with extensive experience in performance engineering, high availability, security and problem determination. After 21 years of working directly with end-users and customers on their IT challenges, he is now a multidimensional specialist, architect and manager of a super-specialist squad.

In March 2019, he moved to Singapore with his wife and two Dachshunds.

The Fabric of Cyber Security: How to be extraordinarily safe and progressive in a time of danger and disaster that looms

You are often unaware of what technology is hidden behind your credit card or bank account. But these systems have to be secure and reliable. Meanwhile, digital transformation and Hybrid Cloud adoption drive security complexity while being challenged by increased cyber-attacks and a lack of resources and skills. So, we need a solid security approach that is one thing. A methodology to ensure ourselves to embrace the concept of Zero Trust. Next to that, we want the technical assurance that the technology stack is impenetrable to the degree it can still be used, of course. Hardware isolation and the highest level of encryption key protection are part of such. In this brief session, Patrick will share his perspective of IT governance for security, operational insurance and even better, technical insurance with state-of-the-art technology.

Cloud the winning “quarterback”, for Digital Transformation in the NFL Championship

A quarterback plays a vital role for his team and paves the way to victory in the famous NFL Championships in the USA. There is a long list of them who have starred in the Super Bowl for the past 56 years. In today’s world of continuous evolution, all organisations must drive their business to a “new normal”. Digital Transformation has become a means of survival of the fittest. In this revolution, cloud computing has a key.

The Essential Approach to Cloud Governance and Security

In the new normal, the post “Covid” era has accelerated the adoption of Cloud Computing and offers flexible arrangements for digital work. However, due to strict security needs, the gap has widened in terms of good Cloud Governance and effective Cloud Security.

So what are the gaps? And where and how are we going to solve the problem of this combined effort. Let us look into the “Essentials” and exactly what it means to Digitally Transform your working environment in a safe and secure way.
