The need for continuous transformation Transformation is no longer a “once in a generation” event, it is now a constant. Once regarded as a singular event, completely reinventing a business or a business model is required at a much higher frequency. The increasing pace of innovation combined with rapidly changing social, environmental and regulatory environments are pressing organisations and ecosystems to continuously evolve in order to survive and thrive. And organisations are finding it harder to navigate the increasingly competitive and disruptive business environments. |

Jeff is passionate about helping Singapore and the next generation transform and grow through technology and education. The Metaverse: What is it, will it work, and does anyone want it? Since it’s rebrand as “Meta”, Facebook has been throwing its considerable weight behind the idea of an immersive virtual reality world. Zuckerberg isn’t the only one latching on to a radical vision in which we go to work, seek entertainment and connect with each other not in a physical world, but in a virtual reality. The buzz surrounding the metaverse raises many questions. Chief among them are, what exactly is the metaverse, is it really just around the corner and, if so, do we actually want it? What about NFTS, blockchain, gaming, crypto-currencies, and Defi? It’s minting millionaires and billionaires. Will it remain in “Lala land” or will it become mainstream? Will it be like the movie “Ready Player One”? How about the game Axie Infinity that became a unicorn? |

Promoting Water Safety Thru Innovation The objective of this presentation is to showcase the strategic initiative of gamification to promote a sustainable water safety culture in Singapore. To promote water safety in Singapore, one of the key tasks is to coordinate water safety programs across various government and non-government agencies. Of the repertoire of initiatives to promote a holistic and comprehensive water safety promotion in Singapore, the gamification development is a step towards a sustainable outreach and education strategy for the community to learn in a fun way. Water safety is a collective effort and everyone has an important role to play. The gamification project aims to provide a holistic approach in developing a water safety culture in Singapore. |
