Specialist Diploma in Lighting Design
The Specialist Diploma in Lighting Design provides spacial designers with a deeper understanding of the science and art of lighting, enabling them to harness the power of lighting to transform the ambience, purpose and mood of a space.
This course not only enabled me to refresh my skill set, but also broadened my industry knowledge… I was also given the opportunity to participate in many valuable events, one of which being the creation of a Light Installation for Temasek Polytechnic’s Open House… It was an extremely fruitful and enjoyable journey, which I would highly recommend to everyone.

I didn’t have much experience in lighting design before enrolling into the course, but it helped enrich my design intentions… at work. I feel much better equipped to integrate lighting to enhance my designs even further. Overall, it was a great and beneficial learning experience… a good way for fresh graduates or returning designers to step into the design industry, while still widening their design knowledge.

I now also understand what specific lighting effects are needed to achieve an intended outcome. This also may open more opportunities for myself in the future. I also managed to meet new people, creating new industry connections. Even though working and studying at the same time might be tough, I believe the sacrifice is worth it as the knowledge and skills gain is invaluable.
