'Kaia coast' is inspired by the beauty of the ocean. It is inspired by a simple stroll along the beach and the realisation that we humans have a great disregard for our environment. Born out of a desire to enlighten others about environmental and sustainability issues, this creative collection of accessories features components made using various upcycled discarded plastic collected from the very coasts of Singapore.
Each design encompasses different elements of the ocean and coast, mainly focusing on the visually detailed intricacy of the ocean's waters. Just like how every ocean wave is unique, no two pieces will ever be the same.

Discovering a design concept that would challenge me to incorporate sustainability while still sticking to the theme I had in mind was definitely not an easy task. However, I believe that there is an importance and thrill in pushing the boundaries of creativity, especially nowadays when it seems that few people's ideas are truly original.
Everyone is unique in their special ways, and so is design. There are endless possibilities for innovation, making design such a fascinating subject and why keeping an open mind throughout the process is essential.
