Mainstream cinema has often objectified women, emphasising physical looks over their intelligence and character. The male perspective in media perpetuates unrealistic beauty ideals, fails to represent women authentically, and normalises harassment. Relearn How To Be A Man is a film festival that fosters men's awareness and comprehension of the male gaze to shift their perceptions and behaviours towards women. This involves cultivating media literacy through movie breakdowns conducted by film critics, which will help them unlearn harmful narratives and relearn through empowering female characters that challenge the male gaze. This initiative sets the stage to redefine masculinity.
