Design for Good

Ferrari with bicycle brakes; that is ADHD. For many children with ADHD, their minds are too fast for them to cope, but most parents sweep these struggles under the rug. Recon aims to strengthen these brakes, uncovering the powers of each unique ADHDer and helping parents understand the weaknesses that are ultimately a form of strength to win the race.

Recon is an effort under the Institute of Mental Health in collaboration with Formula 1, utilising physical and experiential design to elevate occupational therapy, helping parents understand ADHD from a much more comprehensive perspective — how their little champions might react to different things in life. Join us at Recon and unleash your child's inner champion!

Joshua Wee Kai Ern

Hey there, my name's Joshua and I firmly believe in the mantra of "Design with purpose." Art has been my O2 since I was young, turning my what-ifs into why-nots. As I approached my later teenage years, I asked myself, "What use does art have if it does not speak to people?"

The reason I design is to impact lives and to translate intention into reality. I live for experimentation, trying new things and messing up because that's the ultimate way to grow as a creative. Away from work, time consists of photography, beatmaking, coffee, and looking at watches (I can't afford that sort of time yet!)

So, if you design or have similar hobbies, let's chat!
