Life Below Water

Cyclic is a Research and Development Lab that delves into the rich biodiversity of the Lower Seletar Reservoir, aligning closely with my chosen United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. The lab aims to educate the public on the ecological significance of the life forms within the reservoir and how they play an interconnected role in supporting its function as a vital source of clean water for Singapore.

"Rooted in context, inspired by emotions" is my design mantra. It lies in creating spaces that resonate with the surroundings, considering local context, and connecting the design to local culture and environment. I aim to create personal spaces for the users and me as a designer to achieve that. Forging an emotional bond with every project immerses me in the narrative, which engages the users and connects them to the designed spaces. Designing for people's comfort has taught me to focus on the minute details found throughout spaces and to be more mindful and grateful for everything we see and feel.
