Kampung Lestari Seletar

Category
Responsible Consumption and Production

Kampung Lestari Seletar is a hub centred around closing the loop on production and repurposing waste through education, community and innovation. The hub houses local companies that focus on repurposing waste, alongside a café, gallery and retail space. The hub displays sustainable construction and responsible consumption possibilities, inspiring people to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles.

Having lived many lives—from kampung to airport—the essence of the Seletar community has always been its heart. In its next chapter, the hub's new design draws inspiration from the reasons we seek out community: to rejuvenate, collaborate, and support one another. It also responds to the site's linear, grid-like profile, using it as a foundation to shape its spatial forms and experiences.

Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design

Marcus Jordan Yee Zhang Hom

Everything has a story, from the land we stand on to the people living in it. I have always been passionate about telling these stories. Seeing what's happening in the world, hearing diverse perspectives, and reflecting on and communicating those ideas with an audience emboldens and evokes empathy. I echo and uplift these stories in my designs, casting a spotlight on and bringing these stories to life. Architecture and interior design are my mediums of telling these stories. I also dabble in photography and graphic design.
