Sustainable Cities and Communities
Urban Roots reimagines Old Kallang Airport as a sustainable food hub, integrating urban farming, education, and community engagement. Addressing Singapore's reliance on food imports, the project promotes local food production through a circular food system. Inspired by the airport's control tower loop, the design fosters a seamless food journey, from growing and harvesting to sharing meals. The space incorporates indoor and outdoor farming, a farmers' market, and a community kitchen, fostering intergenerational learning and participation. By repurposing an obsolete aviation landmark, Urban Roots bridges the gap between past and future, turning heritage into a catalyst for sustainable living.
Diploma in Interior Architecture & Design
I believe that design should enhance how people experience and interact with space. My approach focuses on creating meaningful journeys where circulation, materiality, and atmosphere work together to shape a seamless, immersive experience. I am passionate about adaptive reuse, using a site's history, context, and identity as design drivers to establish familiarity and emotional connection. By balancing functionality with storytelling, I strive to transform spaces into engaging, intuitive environments deeply connected to their surroundings and users.
