ARCADIA

Sustainable Cities and Communities

The ARCADIA project transforms the Old Kallang Airport into a wellness centre, providing a sanctuary for relaxation and mindfulness amidst Singapore's fast-paced urban lifestyle. Designed as a multi-sensory experience, it engages sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell through biophilic elements and calming soundscapes. Natural light, lush greenery, and curated spaces foster tranquillity, while transitional areas guide users through discovery and introspection.

Inspired by the site's mangrove heritage, meandering pathways, layered greenery, and water features evoke resilience and calmness, counterbalancing urban stress. By blending heritage preservation with sustainable design, the project revitalises this historic site into a retreat for rejuvenation and reflection.

I see design as more than just creating spaces—it's about shaping experiences that feel natural, intuitive, and engaging. Every space should tell a story, foster connection, and resonate with users, giving them a sense of belonging and emotional engagement. I prioritise spatial flow to create functional and immersive environments where every detail enhances the user experience.

With a passion for discovery, I refine my skills to create impactful spaces, exploring how form, light, and materials harmonise. I design with a focus on meaningful interactions, using curiosity and empathy to create environments where users feel seen, heard, and comfortable.
