Design for Good
Memory Can! is a segmented toolkit designed to improve the lives of individuals with dementia, inspired by the comfort of communal dining. It addresses each segment of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs to alleviate confusion and anxiety, fostering short-term habits and preserving long-term aspirations. The first segment focuses on maintaining healthy eating and sleeping routines, featuring ergonomic tableware storage and a customizable alarm. Motion-triggered LEDs are embedded in the base, activating alongside the alarm and serving as a night light for late-night bathroom trips, ensuring comfort and independence for users.

Hi, I'm Troy. My approach to design blends curiosity, understanding, and creativity. My design expression is deeply rooted in a fascination with the human experience and a keen appreciation for the artistry of everyday items. I seek to understand every aspect of someone's way of life, allowing me to create user-centred designs that resonate personally. I find beauty in the stories of even the simplest objects around me, like the details that make up a doorknob. I strive to create products that are emotionally resonant at their core whilst improving the lives of their users.
