Graduating students from Temasek Polytechnic (TP) will have better opportunities to land their dream jobs with the launch of a Skills Transcript. The Skills Transcript is the first of its kind among polytechnics in Singapore that provides a holistic view of the students’ competencies beyond academic achievements, including soft skills, co-curricular activities (CCAs), and relevant internship experiences.

Aligned with SkillsFuture Singapore’s Skills Taxonomy, the transcript, which will be presented to all graduating students starting in 2026, enables students to stand out in the competitive job market, making them more attractive to potential employers as they embark on their careers after graduation. The Skills Transcript is part of TP's broader strategy to nurture well-rounded students so that they can excel both academically and in critical real-world skills. As students across Singapore prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey through the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE), it is crucial for them to think beyond academic results and focus on developing practical and career-relevant skills. 

The Skills Transcript will comprise personalised summaries of each student’s skills and attributes in the areas of academic, co-curricular and experiential achievements. These attributes are defined in the TP Student Profile, which includes innovation and entrepreneurship, critical thinking and resilience. The system will also enable students to preview their skills and track their progress in attaining their desired skills and attributes during their three years at TP. This empowers students to take greater ownership of their learning journey by making well-informed and proactive decisions about subjects, internships, CCAs and projects that align with their personal development and career goals while fostering self-directedness and lifelong learning. Better job fit for employers

With the Skills Transcript, employers will also be able to identify the right candidate for the job more effectively. Developed with feedback from industry partners across various sectors, the transcript enables employers to make more informed hiring decisions, as they will be better able to assess the students’ key capabilities and relevance for the position available, facilitating a better job fit.
