Course Overview

This subject provides the fundamental concepts and principles involved in the operations of modern international airports. Students will learn about the various aspects of airport operations including an overview of key players in terminal operations, terminal signage system, terminal ground operations, terminal contingency planning, aviation security, airport emergency system, and customer quality service.  

 

 

Objectives

 

The objectives of this subject are to equip students with knowledge and skills to:

  • Deal with the various key players in the international air transportation system
  • Apply the key principles of airport operations to meet industry standards and requirements
  • Prepare themselves to better manage airport operational issues in a modern international airport

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular course, students will be issued the Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Diploma in Engineering (Aviation Management).
