This subject covers an introduction to the behavioural enrichment in domestic companion species. Students will study the fundamentals of companion animal behaviour, and learn a variety of behaviour modification methods that are recognized for use. Students will also learn the basics of environmental enrichment in these species and the importance of enrichment in maintenance of mental health and well-being in companion animals.
Modes of Assessment
The assessment would be based on 100% coursework with written & practical tests, case studies, assignments, presentations and projects.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Veterinary Wellness Care.
