Course Overview

The Animal Nursing & Rescue Care module is part of the Post-Diploma Certificate in Veterinary Care & Health, contributing to the Specialist Diploma in Veterinary Wellness Care. This course is designed for veterinary technicians and professionals in animal-related fields, such as pet care, wildlife, laboratory animal facilities, and animal welfare.

Entry Requirements

 

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.

What You'll Learn

This subject covers the principles and veterinary nursing techniques in emergency nursing in companion animals, such as the use of rescue equipment and basic first aid skills. An overview of the One Health approach in veterinary care and preventative healthcare will also be covered.

 

 

Modes of Assessment

 

The assessment would be based on 100% coursework with written & practical tests, case studies, assignments, presentations and projects.

 

 

Certification

 

Upon successful completion of the modular unit, students will be awarded a Statement of Result which can count towards the attainment of the Specialist Diploma in Veterinary Wellness Care.
