Course Overview

This subject provides an overview in freight management and focuses on the significance of freight transport in the global setting. Topics related to freight tariff systems, costing, operational flows, key performance indicators, customs documentation and clearance procedures will be covered to give a good understanding of the practices in the international freight industry.

 

 

Objectives

 

The subject aims to equip students with knowledge and skills to:

  • Plan for the most cost effective method to make a shipment for a specific cargo type.
  • Analyse documentation requirements for freight transport in the global setting.

Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for modular units which are drawn from existing full diploma or post-diploma programmes will have the same minimum entry requirements as the full qualifications.
