Course Overview
The course aims to address sustainability challenges and make a case for holistic, integrated, and collaborative thinking as the way to address social and environmental problems.
Given that Sustainability operates in a complex, dynamic environment affected by multiple simultaneous and ever-shifting forces, trends, and influences, the attitude of systems thinking as a mindset will be introduced using the PESTLE framework (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental factors). This will engage in the critical analysis of the systemic nature of the interwoven issues and develop a thorough awareness of the challenges and opportunities among participants. Through questioning assumptions and worldviews, the participants will be well-equipped to propose a viable, sustainable design solution to address complex problems that surround us.
