CP is a practicing regional HR leader and consultant. He has more than 15 years of experience in HR Business Partnering, Learning, Talent and Organisation Development locally and regionally in APAC, focusing on the South-East Asia region. He has worked in various HR roles in the Singapore Civil Service, Multi-National Corporations (IT, Medical, Insurance Brokerage & Professional Services), Banking & Finance Institutions and in recent years with high-growth technology start-ups. Currently he assumes the role of Fractional CHRO for a portfolio of start-ups belong to a VC Firm. CP specialises in designing and conducting programs and solutions leveraging on various psychometric profiling tools and assessments. As a trained and certified counsellor and coach, CP has designed and led many initiatives and strategies in progressive HR practices to enhance and strengthen employee relationships and engagement as well as diversity and inclusion at the workplace. He also provides internal and external performance and career coaching to aspiring HR and business leaders to people managers and business leaders. Since 2018, CP has been active in providing mostly pro-bono career coaching to job seekers, HR practitioners and students. He holds various coaching accreditations, namely ICF-PCC, EMCC EIA (Senior Practitioner) and ITCA (Practitioner) for his experience in providing workplace individual and team coaching, as well as GCDF and GCDFi for his experience in providing career coaching.
CP provides his expertise in HR as a consultant on operational (e.g., employment legislations and employee grievances) and strategic (e.g., organisational culture and talent development) matters. His many past clients include MNCs and large companies (e.g., Allianz, Continental AG, Unilever, AIA, Citibank, PSA Group), SMEs, non-profits, government agencies in Singapore (e.g., STB, CPFB, MINDEF), and the Royal Civil Service Commission of Bhutan.
As an adjunct faculty member with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Murdoch University, delivering HR and Organisational Psychology modules, CP was awarded in 2024 the Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, by Advance HE, a member-led charity of and for the sector that works with partners across the globe to improve higher education for staff, students and society.
CP is also active with many HR professional bodies as an accredited senior HR professional, serving as the SHRM Representative and Master Facilitator in Singapore and also as their Global Content Developer. As a trained certificate holder with the Association of Workplace Investigators, CP also conducts workplace investigations involving employee misconduct. He also serves on a committee convened by the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Council that promotes progressive workplace mental and physical health practices.
CP graduated from Baruch College, City University of New York with a Master of Science in Industrial & Organisational Psychology, and became a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society in 2024. He also has a MBA with Merit from Strathclyde Business School, with a Distinction in his thesis on reducing recidivism through supervisory training. He graduated from NUS School of Engineering with a Bachelor’s degree, and had successfully completed various post-graduate and specialist diploma programs in Education with the National Institute of Education, Career Counselling with Republic Polytechnic and HR Management with Singapore HR Institute, all based in Singapore.
