Course Overview

A joint collaboration with the Ministry of Law, this course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to understand the bankruptcy processes including the application and the discharge processes, the roles and duties of a private trustee in bankruptcy and the realisation of assets and determination, review and variation of monthly and target contributions.

Who Should Attend

Existing insolvency practitioners and staff who undertake and/or are involved in individual insolvency work.

What You'll Learn

  • Bankruptcy applications by creditors and debtors:
  • Pre-bankruptcy schemes;
  • Disqualifications, disabilities and offences under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act;
  • The effect of bankruptcy and the role of the private trustee;
  • Asset realisation; and
  • Discharge from bankruptcy
