Benjamin’s key areas of academic expertise include Strategic Tourism Planning, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions), Destination Marketing, Digital Marketing for Tourism, Visitor Attractions Management and Events & Sponsorship Marketing.
Prior to joining Temasek Polytechnic in 2007, Benjamin built up over 13 years of experience as an industry practitioner with extensive involvement in the areas of conventions and corporate events management as well as destination marketing and management. Previously, Benjamin consulted with global corporations and Singapore government agencies to help create, develop, organize and manage events targeted at brand and image building, as well as the education of clients and business partners. He has been involved in organising and managing corporate events in major cities throughout the world including Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Cairns, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Manila and Maui.
Apart from lecturing and tutoring students under pre-employment training (PET) and continuing education training (CET), Benjamin has also been actively involved in facilitating tourism & destination development workshops in Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and the Philippines where participants are representatives of government agencies, tertiary institutions and the tourism industry.
