Course Overview

With the transformation of Singapore’s economy and the new norm, the demand for skilled digital marketing & communication professionals is on the rise. Digital marketing and content creation play a vital role in business development, branding and growing a company’s revenue.

 

Through this programme jointly delivered by Temasek Polytechnic and Singapore Management University (SMU) Academy, you will learn to formulate digital marketing and communication strategies, produce relevant digital content and execute digital marketing-related activities and campaigns through projects and simulation games.

What You'll Learn

This course consists of 2 Post-Diploma Certificates (PDCs). 

 

To be awarded the Specialist Diploma in Digital Marketing & Communication Management, students are required to complete 3 modules at TP within a semester and 4 modules at SMU within another semester. The Specialist Diploma in Digital Marketing & Communication Management will be jointly awarded by TP and SMU to participants who have successfully completed and obtained a pass grade for the 7 modules.

BCRM001 Customer Engagement

This subject focuses on understanding consumer online behaviour and using the different digital marketing and social media tools to engage consumer so as to attract, retain, and create strong relationships. Participants will learn to map customer journey and the strategies company use to engage consumer on the various digital & social media platforms.

BCRM002 Digital Content Management

This subject introduces participants to the different types of digital content, the creation and usage of these content in the context of a business. Participants will examine the challenges and issues in managing digital content in M-commerce, cross-channel fulfilment, in-store virtual technology, integration of digital media applications and omni-channel customer engagement.

BCRM003 Integrated Project

This subject seeks to consolidate what participants had learnt in the earlier two subjects by getting them to complete deliverable(s) that relate to the industry’s operations and/or situations. Participants will be guided to apply their knowledge and skills.

BCRM004 Digital Marketing – Social Media Marketing

As an effective, cost-effective digital marketing technique, social media comes with several tools, which you can master to increase both the productivity and effectiveness of your campaigns. You will find out how well-planned Content Strategy and how proper landing page optimisation play significant roles in the Conversion Funnel framework.

BCRM005 Digital Marketing – Search Engine Marketing

You will discover the power of Paid Search and Search Engine Optimisation to increase the productivity and effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns. BCRM008 Foundations of Brand Storytelling

You will understand the communication and media contexts in which stories are created, shared and experienced. Many organizations in strategic communications functions are bound to find particularly helpful for developing compelling stories for investor pitches and/or other marketing activities.

BCRM009 Business Storytelling Studio

This course builds on 'Foundations in Brand Storytelling'. Using short lectures, examples and lots of in-class exercises, this course will enable students to learn about business story frameworks, presentation design, and non-verbal communication. The course will culminate in a business speech.

Modes of Assessment

 

Assessment will be based on a combination of coursework components such as written and practical tests, case studies, assignments and projects.

Career Opportunities

At the entry level, the job positions are Digital Strategist and practitioners of digital marketing and communication.

 

Upon completing the course, graduates can look forward to role expansion in their work scope. They can also look forward to upgrading their knowledge and skills through further CET and executive programmes offered by local Institutes of Higher Learning.

A Polytechnic Diploma or ITE Technical Diploma / Technical Engineer Diploma / Work-Learn Technical Diploma or equivalent
OR
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
OR

A Post-Secondary Certificate

AND with at least 3 Years of relevant working experience
