Course Overview
This course is designed to equip individuals with essential skills and knowledge about operation, maintenance and diagnostics of hybrid & electric vehicles. It is especially beneficial for professionals in the automotive industry who are transitioning from servicing internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to servicing electric vehicles.
The aims of this course are to equip the participants with knowledge and skills in:
- apply personal protective equipment (PPE) and industry-good practices to handle hybrid & electric vehicles safely.
- perform charging of electric vehicles with EV charging equipment/station.
- perform basic inspection, scheduled maintenance and diagnostics on key aspects of hybrid & electric cars’ operation
- check and maintain hybrid battery storage systems and air conditioning in hybrid & electric vehicles safely.

Mr Tan Chong Kai
Chong Kai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Queensland, Australia. Before joining Temasek Polytechnic as a lecturer, he amassed 12 years of extensive experience as a mechanical engineer, specializing in the design and integration of Powertrain Systems for the automotive industry. His career was marked by significant contributions to various high-profile projects, where he demonstrated exceptional technical skills and leadership in advancing automotive powertrain technologies.

Mr Roland Ho Swee Hong is the Tech. Specialist at EV Maintenance Department, BlueSG. He is equipped with more than 30 years of experience in automobile industry. His wide spectrum of qualification and experiences are listed as below.
