Mr Yang Yen Thaw
Yang Yen Thaw is a corporate lawyer, registered management consultant (RMC), an AAE (Associate Adult Educator), ACLP+ACTA certified adult trainer, certified AI consultant, CIPM, and PC:DP(S) certified practitioner (data protection). He has held senior management and executive positions in management and law in listed as well as private limited companies with businesses spanning Australia, China, France, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, UK, USA, and most Southeast Asian countries. He has also run his own law firm for 12 years.
Yen Thaw serves as Chief Legal Officer, Resident Management Consultant, and Chief PDPA consultant to various Singapore companies/firms and trains DPOs as well. He presented Singapore SkillsFuture Framework in the Retail Sector to DTI, PTTC, trade associations and companies in the Philippines in November 2019.
He was the speaker for a webinar on “PDPA and Data Governance” for Smart Nation X conducted on 13 August 2021, which was jointly organized by the PMO, SSG, and NTUC LearningHub. He was also the creator, designer, and developer of the Design Thinking for Data Protection course that was approved by IMDA/PDPC as well as WSG. Yen Thaw has also been a speaker for critical thinking and business negotiations for e2i / SkillsFuture Singapore in 2021.
In fuelling his training passion for lifelong learning, Yen Thaw constantly upskills himself in many and different disciplines. While teaching diverse subjects to senior management and decision-makers such as technology, management, and law, he has interwoven these together through innovative and creative means in unique techniques meeting the needs of Industry 4.0. among many other subjects, he primarily teaches AI & ML, business internationalization, cybersecurity, data protection, and entrepreneurship.
