Course Overview

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) in the context of the environmental services industry, addressing important key components such as legal requirements and risk management processes which are necessary for creating a safe and compliant work environment.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will need to have minimally primary level education or have attained WPL level 1. Shortlisted applicants may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. Temasek Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants. Applicants who have already completed any module(s) will be considered on a case by case basis.

Applicants needs to be 18 years of age and above.

This course aims to equip learners with the knowledge and abilities to supervise the implementation of safe work practices and maintain workplace risk control measures at workplace.

Overview of WSH management system
WSH duties and responsibilities of supervisor in the environmental services industry
Risk management process
Typical hazards in environmental services industry
Methods for hazard identification
WSH risk control measures
Incident Investigation and reporting
Carry out WSH inspections
Implement WSH training and promotional programmes
Conduct incident investigation and prepare report
Evaluate suggestions and corrective actions to manage WSH hazards and unsafe acts or conditions at the workplace
Recommend improvements to existing processes
Verify the unsafe acts or conditions present and justify the corrective actions recommended to management
