Course Overview

The refresher course will cover any changes in regulatory requirements of refrigerant handling during installation, maintenance, and decommissioning chiller works and reinforce the good refrigerant handling techniques practiced by the industry through interactive training sessions, hands-on practice, and case studies.



The National Environment Agency requires all certified chiller technicians to attend the refresher course every 3 years. Course participants will be required to complete and pass a theory and practical assessment at the end of the refresher course to be recertified. A certificate will be issued to course participants who have completed the course and passed the assessment.

Entry Requirements

Participants must complete the Refrigerant Handling for Chiller Course.

Who Should Attend

The refresher course is for chiller technicians who have been certified in the refrigerant handling for chiller course.

What You'll Learn

Day 1

  • Topic 1: Safe Handling of Refrigerants and Safety Measures
  • Topic 2: Regulatory Requirements
  • Topic 3: Proper Handling of Refrigerants During Chiller Servicing (refrigerant charging, chiller maintenance and chiller decommissioning)
  • Topic 4: Practical Refrigerant Recovery Refresher

 

 

Certification

 

Participants who meet at least 75% of the required course attendance and attempt the assessment will be awarded the Certificate of Completion.
